Patient and Visitor Information

The Abington Surgical Center is designed for patients requiring outpatient surgery. These pages tell you about the Center and answers many of the questions you may have about outpatient surgery.

Please review these pages carefully. It is important that you, your surgeon and the Center's staff work together to make your experience at the Abington Surgical Center as pleasant as possible.

Children

During the preoperative visit, the parent/guardian will receive special instructions about preparing the child for surgery.

A parent or guardian must accompany a child scheduled to have an operation. For a younger child, a toy, blanket or book may be brought for added assurance.

To comfort the child (and parent), we will allow a parent to remain with the child until he is taken to the operating room and to be with the child as soon as possible after surgery.
