The Abington Surgical Center is designed for patients requiring outpatient surgery. These pages tell you about the Center and answers many of the questions you may have about outpatient surgery.
Please review these pages carefully. It is important that you, your surgeon and the Center's staff work together to make your experience at the Abington Surgical Center as pleasant as possible.
The Day of Your Operation
- Do not smoke.
- Wear loose clothing and low-heeled shoes. Leave all jewelry and valuables at home.
- Contact lenses should not be worn on the day of surgery; wear your glasses.
- A patient gown, bathrobe, cap and slippers will be provided for you , as will a place in which to store your clothing.
- Your companion may wait for you in our reception area or be available at all times by telephone.
- If you are unable to keep your appointment or will be late, please call the Center at 215-443-8505.
